Ford: running lights problem, ford escort lx, daytime running lights

Question
I have a 96 ford escort LX

After doing rear break line repair(left hatch open killing battery, oops) I had to charge my battery. I started charging and had a clicking noise, so I disconnected the battery and charged it separately, when I reconnected the battery my daytime running lights came on, key is not in the ignition, and they won't shut off, do you have any idea what is causing this?

Answer

component locator
Hello,

All I can guess is that the Daytime running lamp relay or module stuck on . Maybe the key was on when charger was connected and it accidentally fused.

Remove the relay and if the lights go out, replace the relay.

There is a more extensive test, but the relays are relatively cheap.

The module and relay are located in the passenger footwell area.
