Ford: 2005 f150 diagnostic code, throttle position sensor, limp home

Question
Tim- Today my 2005 F150 went into limp home mode. I shut it off, started it back up and it was fine. I bought a code reader and the codes that came up were P2104 , P2111. I know this has to due with the throttle but what can I do to check/repair it. 5.4L

Thank,
Terry

Answer
hello

Often a good cleaning of the throttle body can solve this (I use a toothbrish and carb or intake cleaner) but here is the test
1. Monitor throttle position 1 and throttle position 2 data with appropriate scan tool and be sure voltages raise and lower smoothly with no spikes when moving accelerator.

2. Inspect throttle plate for any blockages or debris. Clean throttle body and retest.

3. If the concern is still present, monitoring throttle position sensor during concern is preferable, however throttle body will likely need to be replaced.
