Ford: ABS light is on. And a humming noise is coming from a black box right under my brake fluid container, fuse panel, faulty sensor

Question
I have a humming noise coming from a black box right under my brake fluid container. Also it started to happen after my ABS light just suddenly came on. Also it's draining my battery dead. What could this be??

Answer
Remove the ABS fuse in the underhood fuse panel.  This should be the Large 30-60 amp one. That should stop the noise and the battery draw.

You ABS motor provides constant brake pressure for ABS activation and is either shorted on, or is being told to stay on by a faulty sensor, module or relay.

Removing the fuse will cause the ABS and possibly the brake warning lights to stay on while driving, and will leave you with regular power braking.

Do not continue to drive like this as Anti-skid (ABS) braking is not functioning, and more importantly, you will not know if your regular (base) braking is functioning correctly.

A good auto shop will be able to find your problem.
