Ford: reverse lights dont work, reverse light switch, 1988 ford f150

Question
i have a 1988 ford f150 and my reverse lights don't work

Answer
Hello,
If you have checked for power through the back up light switch, and had someone shift through the gears while watching for reverse lights at any time, i would start by checking the power in and out of the reverse light switch.  I will get the location and wiring to you asap (on monday)

Ok... sorry I took so long.

Find the  switch. On the left side of the transmission (automatic= gear selector switch) or on the top (manual= back up light switch).
Ppl/Org wire is power in from fuse #5 and Blk/Pnk is power out to lights.

Make sure you have power at both sides of the fuse and , if you have power at the Ppl/Org of the switch, see if power appears at the Blk/Pnk wire while someone shifts in and out of reverse.

Power in and no power out= faulty switch or transmission problem.

Power in and power out= wire to lights, sockets, bulbs and or socket ground issues.

Good luck
