Ford: 78 Bronco 5.4 swap, holley pro jection, detroit lockers

I have a 78 Bronco 400, c-6, 4.11 gears, detroit lockers and 35" tires. I want to swap in a 5.4l & 5 or 6 speed. Can it run using my existing axles? What electrical concerns will I be in for? I can fab all mounts. I just want fuel injection reliability in winter & on trails and hopefully shed a little weight in the process.

Well, without some lengthy investigation, You can swap in the motor and transmission with some work.  You will have to install the ECM and all the wiring, and probably the some of the gauges.

There is a company Advance Adapters which makes quite a few of the swap kits or you can google it. If all you want is fuel injection, there are a few kits that swap the carburetor for a multi port injector . Holley Pro-jection is one.
