Ford: overheating, losing coolant, hot point

Question
i have a ford ranger and it seems to be over hearing the thermostat is only a couple of months old and i just replaced all the raidator hoses cause i seem to have a leak some where it has full antifreeze but the water temp seems to keep getting hot i have never let it get to the hot point because i dont want to damage the engine but it is getting hotter than it normally does im not sure what to do

Answer
Hi,

While it may be a newer thermostat, that doesn't necessarily mean it isn't faulty. That being said, is the engine over heating? I mean actually losing coolant or boiling over? What year is the truck and what engine is in it?

You say that is full of coolant and it has a leak ??

When the engine is hot and gauge is rising, are the radiator hoses hot?
Have you had to add coolant?

Most likely a faulty temperature sender, but I need to have more info before I can assist you further.
