Ford: 86 Ford F-150 Ignition switch lock change, good luck man, ford f 150

Question
I have an '86 F-150 that has a worn out key switch. I've also lost the only key I had to this darn thing. How can I change out the lock set? It has tilt steering if that is relevant.

Answer
unfortunatly the lock cyl must be drilled out of the steering column... it can be done but it is a pain in the butt. you'll need to start by removing the chrome ring from the lock cyl.. (A pair of pliers will remove that...) after that start in the center of the lock cyl with a small bit and just keep getting bugger (But please take note that the metal in the steering column is soft and cuts verry fast... the metal in the lock cyl is not that easy... it will take some time but you can do it.... ) The only other options is to bring the truck to a locksmith (Or call one out to the house,...) or og to a junk yard adn get another column with a key... Good luck man...
