Ford: vin decoding, ford f 150, vin code

My 2003 Ford F-150 Supercab with the 4.6 engine has a vin#1FTRX17W03NB30967 and the parts guys are in the dark as to my truck having the vin code of "6" or "W" since both are in my Vin. Thanks in advance.

i am assuming there looking for the engine code there Nick. And you have the "W" engine sir your parts person should have been a little more specific and asked you for the eighth digit of your serial number. The bunch of numbers at the end that is the vehicle production number.
