Ford: driveshaft, piece drive shaft, old fords

Question
i have a 75 f100 390 c6 and a 79 f100 that the motor and trans is going in to here is my problem.First the 79 had a 300 6 in it.aqll went well exept my 75 had a carrier driveshaft and the 79 had a single. the driveshaft that was on the 79 dont work because my c6 has a universal joint hook up same as my rear end what can i do. cant just mount joint to joint there will be no room for the rear end to move?????

Answer
Thomas, what I would do is go to a salvage yard and find the drive shaft that I needed.  It shouldn't be hard to find one.  I know that U-pull-it in my town keeps a few old Fords laying around.  Most 70 model ford have a 9in rearend, so that shouldn't be too much of a problem.  Just look for one that has a C-6, one piece drive shaft and you should find exactly what you need.  Good luck,   Jason
