Ford: 1983 4x4 front hub removal, snap ring, caliper

Question
I am trying to replace my front rotors and have caliper, outer hub lock cap and the "C" clip on the spindle removed. I can't get the rest of the hub locking mechanisim out though. There apears to be a snap ring and I can't push the locking hub far enough out of the way to get to it. any ideas?

Answer
Johnathan, the snap ring is tough to get out.  I will start by using some lubricant to clean out the hub so I can see the ring.  Then I take a screwdriver and kinda push the ring around so that it breaks loose from it's position.  What I have found to be the best way to get the ring out is to take two small screwdrivers.  Take one of them to hold one side in place, and the other to pry out, and away from the other.  It has taken me 30 minutes sometimes to get that ring off.  Just keep at it with the small screwdrivers until it one side pops.  Good luck,   Jason
