truck engine light is on, truck is wanting to go when iam sitting still and have the brake on when i hit the gas it takes off.

Tracy, do you mean that the truck is idling very high?  If your check engine light is on, you can stop by AutoZone and have them check it for free.  You can also rent a code reader from your local parts store for free (you get your deposit back).    Jason
