Ford: seat and key alarm, salvage yard, seatbelt

Question
Please tell me how to disconect the alarm that sounds when the key is inserted or if the seat belt is not fastened.  My truck is driven a lot on construction sites and the key remains in the ignition all day for use by several drivers

Answer
Hi Scott.  I would first like you to know that this is a little outside my expertise.  However, I will tell you that the reason the alarm sounds is because there is a switch that must be closed.   The easiest way to do that is to visit your local salvage yard and find a seatbelt that will fit into yours.  Of course, this will keep your people from being able to wear a seatbelt while they are driving the vehicle.  But, I am guessing the seatbelt doesn't get worn that much, or else you wouldn't have this problem.  : )      There is one other way that I know of, and that is to remove the seatbelt from the side of the chair.  Inside you should find three, or four, wires.  Find the one that closes the circuit, and your problem can be solved by grounding it out.  I hope this helps.  You can feel free to try one of the other experts, they may know a little more about it than I do.  Good luck,   Jason
