Ford: Ford Focus ST, new ford focus, ford focus st

Question
Hi John,
I've been toying with the idea of buying the new Ford Focus ST. I was wandering what your impression or thoughts on this car are and whether you think this car is value for money and also how quick you think this car would depreciate in value over 3 years.

Thanks for your help

Dave

Answer
Dave,
I think the Focus is a great small car. I bought a 2005 Focus ZX5 for my wife last year. The car is well built and does very well in a crash. I have talked to a few people that have been involved in accidents in their Focus and all of them have been very impressed in how the car protected them.
You can get the car very well equipped with comfort options, and the audiophile stereo is a 500 watt system engineered by Sony exclusivly for the Focus.
All cars depreciate in the first three years. If this is a major concern you should consider leasing for three years and then you can be sure you can walk away from the car in three years. Your local dealer should be able to show you how this can work for you.
Overall, I think the Focus can be a car that you can be very happy with, I know I am very satisfied with the one I own.
Happy Motoring,
John
