Ford: electrical problem, ford taurus, 1999 ford taurus

i know you said in your profile that you only know about ford taurus 1986-1995 models..but anyways i have a 1999 ford taurus..and everything on it runs great...but it doesn't hold a charge...brand new optima battery...brand new alternator.. it'll run off the battery for a while but thats it...won't keep the battery charged at all...but if theres any helpful hints please help me out..thanks

Taurus are notorius for having bad negitive cables which will not allow it to charge properly.  So check both ends of your negitive battery cable to make sure that it is making excellent contact, also just check over the positive for the same.  If that is not the case a bad starter can also drain a battery.
