Ford: R&R hydraulic lifters in a Ford Ranger, hydraulic lifters, auto parts store

Question
what are the steps for replacing hydraulic lifters in a 4 cylinder 1988 Ford ranger? Before the new lifters are to be installed, should they be pre-oiled before hand, should I work the lifters up and down in an oil bath or try to anyway?
Is it normal for lifters to leak down before start-up. hen I start my truck the lifters tap for about a minute or two. normal or not??

depending on how many miles you have on the truck.the older it gets you will have lifters tap.as for replacing your lifters i would go to a auto parts store and buy a repair manuel as this is the easy way for you.if you cant buy one for what ever reason write back and ill help you.you will have to give me some time to do this as its alot of writing and i have many questions.hope this helps.
