Ford: brakes, ford galaxy, ford dealers

Question
I have a ford galaxy 1.9tdi 1999 the brake pedal is rising and going hard and losing brake power when pressed several times it then stays hard then after a few seconds returns to normal. If you press the brake pedal once continously to stop it is fine. I have had this checked at a Ford dealers who say they can find no fault. I have also had it at my local garage who has checked the servo pipe and vacumn pump these both look normal any other ideas.

It sounds like you have a bad brake booster that is loosing vacuum. Also, have you had brakes put on your vehicle recently because it also sounds like you have air in the brake line.
