Ford: Humming Sound, brake calipers, car engine


Question
----Ken - the humming sound appears to be coming from the middle front of the car engine or tranny not loud at all..I.E. with the radio on you do not notice it---------------------

ABS light comes on and goes off intermittenly...When the car is drive and the brakes are applied to stop UI hear a humming sound. If I put the car into neutral or park even though the brake pedal is depressed the humming sound stops.

i would check the connections and the brake calipers. make sure the connections (plug) are tight.the plugs get dirty and loose easily or even break. its hard to guess about a humming sound without being there.if you can give me a idea where the humming is ciming from ill try to help.hope this helps .

It could be one of your belts because when you are under load with it in gear sometimes they will hum if they are a little loose or if you have air conditioning.. Hope that this helps and if you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to ask. Good luck.
