Ford: 95 Ford Explorer, vacuum lines, vacuum line

Question
My son installed a new coil pack on his 95 Ford Explorer and now it won't idle.  It turns over but will not idle. Can you give us some indication of why this is happening and what he can do?

Thank you!

Answer
Cheryl,

First thing he should check is to make sure that he did not knock of any vacuum lines. A plugged PCV valve will also caus ethe problem you describe as well as a bad fuel pump or idle air control. My guess is that he knocked off a vacuum line. Also he should make sure that he did not cross any wires when installing the coil pack as crossed wores can cause the problem as well. Hope that this helps and if you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me. Good luck.
