Ford: LARGER TIRES, NEW GEARS?, reply thanks, trans shop

Question
I HAVE AN 00 EXPLORER WITH 235/75/15'S AND 3.27 OPEN REAR-END, MANUAL TRANS.  I'D LIKE TO PUT SOME BIGGER TIRES ON 265/75/15'S.  SHOULD I BE CONCERNED ABOUT DAMAGING THE TRANS, OR REAR-END?  IF SO, WHY?  I ONCE HAD A RANGER, AND ABOUT A MONTH AFTER PUTTING BIGGER TIRES ON THE TRANS WENT.  THE GUY AT THE SHOP TOLD ME IT WAS UNRELATED.  JUST WANTED SOMEONE ELSE'S OPINION.  I UNDERSTAND YOU WORK FOR FORD AND PROBABLY CANNOT COMMENT ON ANY MODIFICATION THAT DEVIATES FROM OEM STANDARDS.  IF YOU CAN COMMENT HOWEVER, I WOULD IN NO WAY HOLD YOURSELF, OR FORD LIABLE FOR THE STATEMENTS MADE IN YOUR REPLY.

THANKS

Answer
mark the guy at the trans shop is a wrong that is what kills a lot of trans .he doesn't know what he is talking about.now if your vehicle is not 4wd then if you go with those tires i would go to either 3.55 0r 3.73.this will take the strane off the trans.
