Ford: 86 mustang ignition, starter solenoid, amp meter

Question
First, I have had the battery checked and it is fine.  What is happening is this.  With the door open and the key inserted in the ignition switch, you do hear the door buzzer go off.  As soon as you turn the key out of the locked position, absolutely nothing.  If you remove the key and insert it again, still nothing.  Could this be the ignition switch?

Answer
Mike,

Yes, it could be the ignition switch. If you turn the key and nothing happens, I would check all your battery connections and take an amp meter and check your battery. You should have AT LEAST 12.4 volts (vehicle off). Also, you can go over to your starter solenoid and jump a wire from your positive on your battery to the "S" terminal on the solenoid. If the vehicle starts you have either a bad starter switch or a bad solenoid. If you need further assistnace, please do not hesitate to contact me. Hope that this helps and good luck.
