Ford: Followup on Expedition wont stay on, trottle, carburator

Question
Ragu, I had emailed earlier about my 1998 expedition not staying on unless I held the gas down. You responded that I should clean the throttle body with carb clearner.  I would like to know if the trottle is that device on the top of the engine under the plastic cover? Should I spray the carb clearner inside this device (throttle) and then start the engine. The expedition won't even stay on anymore.  I took that black plastic cover off last night and also removed that black plastic housing where the air filter is located all the way to this device. This device looks similar to a carburator. It has a metal flap that if you push the top in, the bottom half come out towards you.  Your expertise is appreciated. Tried to email you this weekend, but every time I checked you were maxed out. Thanks in advance.

Answer
Eddie  ok what you want to do is have someone without the vehicle running hold the gas peddle all the way down and you go out under the hood and remove the air filter tube which is were you saw the flap get an old tooth brush and while spraying inside tooth brush all around the throttle body. then with the throttle body close try to start the vehicle then spray some more and give it gas to keep it running . note it may be hard to start at first but it will.  Good Luck
