Ford: 1980 ford fiesta-oil in air filter casing, pvc valve, mechanic friend

Question
thanks for the advice.  It seems that oil is splashing so violently into the oil cap that it is clogging
the pcv valve which seems to be integrated with the cap. I'm wondering if I can just clamp the
ventilation hose that leads to the air filter case.  Exhast shouldn't be going that direction anyway
right? Tomorrow I will try to soak the cap in denatured alcohol to help free up the Pcv valve if
that is the problem.  a mechanic friend told me to put 20-50 oil in (heavier) so that blow-by is
less intense. If a clean pcv valve still dosen't work, can I clamp off any hoses to keep the engine
from burning oil in the recycled exhaust? and shooting into the air filter?  the car is old and I
suppose the piston rings are shot so I just want to keep her running for as long as possible...

Answer
Dear Corey  DO NOT put 20w 50 oil in it it will cause the bearings on start to be dry and then you will have problems  just go to your parts store a pick up some eng. restor and put that in the oil.DO NOT block off any oil passage or pvc valve hoses.buy some what they call it is high millage oil. that should take care of your problems .Good LUCK
