i think i may have to change out my water pump i have a fast leak about one gallon of water in four hours setting. i was wondering what all is involved in changing out the water pump and gasket, as well as degree of difficulty.

The only hang up you may encounter is there is a special tool to hold the water pump pulley to remove the fan that is attached to it.  You would need to locate that tool inorder to do the job.  Aside from that, some patience is all that would be required.  Remove the upper shroud, then the fan I mentioned above, then the hoses. Then the mounting bolts (4).  Clean the block or all old material (painful sometimes) Reinstall, make sure you put sealant on the bolts and make sure the gaskets are inplace before you tighten the bolts, they can be very difficult to get to stay inplace.
