GM-GMC: steering column and ignition locked up, gmc sierra, correct key

Question
I have a 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 2 wheel drive. Ignition and steering column wont budge. How do I fix problem? Need help ASAP.

All joking aside.  Make sure you have the correct key to start with.  Try turning the wheel side to side while turning the key.  If the wheel is turned too far one way occaisonally you will need to really pull down on the steering wheel to get the key to turn.  If you have exhausted all of those resources you will need to have it towed to a shop and have the ignition cylinder drilled and removed.
