GM-GMC: CAR WONT START, car wont start, sensor problems

I HAVE A 2000 ALERO. IT ONLY STARTS SOME OF THE TIME..WHEN IT STARTS IT RUNS FINE, THEN AFTER I SHUT IT OFF, IT COULD BE HOURS TO DAYS BEFORE IT STARTS AGAIN..IT CRANKS FINE, JUST WONT START UP MOST OF THE TIME...CANT USE IT CAUSE WHEN I GET SOMEWHERE IT WONT RESTART FOR AWHILE...WHAT CAN THIS BE....THANKS FOR READING THIS......DOUG

I would imagine the theft light is on steady or flashing (on your instrument panel)  Those cars (N Body) were bad for having passlock sensor problems.  If you have someone read the codes you will likely have a Vehicle Theft Deterrent (VTD) code or a history code.  This usually means the passlock sensor must be replaced.  Fairly pricey if I remember correctly.  You could try to have it reprogrammed, but chances are 99% of the time it doesn't fix it and you end up replacing it anyways.  If the theft light isn't on or flashing, repost with somemore info and we can think it over again.
