GM-GMC: Chevy four way flasher switch, motorhome chassis, hazard flashers

Question
93 chevy Motorhome chassis P30. Bread truck, I call it. My hazard flashers do not work. Once the steering wheel is removed is the switch removal fairly simple and what would you guess the OEM switch cost to be? I have found a source for an add on switch that is used on vehicles built before there were hazard flashers. Cost is $18.00. Thank you for your help.

Answer
The switch removal is fairly straight forward.  The turn stalk can be tricky to get off but patience will pay off.  Before you dive in and replace the switch, if when you try the hazards nothing comes on at all, no lights on the dash no clicking, nothing, your switch could be the problem. If however you try the hazards and the lights come on on the dash and stay on but don't flash.  Your switch is likely ok, but the flasher module is probably faulty.  It is what is responsible for making the lights alternate on/off.  The module's are generally very cheap, less than $5, and are usually very accessible under the dash near the steering column.  If you ask for one at a parts store you'll know what they look like and you can check it out.
Hope this helps
