GM-GMC: Throttle Body flooding Condition, blazer k5, throttle body injection

Question
I have a 1989 full size blazer K5 with a 5.7, Auto, 4x4, throttle body injection.  Vehicle was running fine, sat over night with inside light on battery went dead. Jumped vehicle and it started and idled until warmed up when placed in gear the motor stalled, and to restart I had to hold throttle wide open to clear fuel, started and idled again but continues to stall with a flooding condition when placed in gear.

Answer
It sounds to me like your IAC, idle air control has lost its posistion.  Some of the older vehicles needed a scan tool to be set the IAC position when battery power was lost completely.  I don't have access to the service information for that year of vehicle at the present time, but I suspect that is what is causing your stalling condition.
