GM-GMC: 1995 gmc sierra, pinion bearings, gmc sierra

Hi,I wrote you on 5-2-08 about a noise in tranny or transfer case,sorry but the info I gave was incorrect. I jacked up the rear and had my wife run thru the gears while I crawled underneath to listen for the clunking noise,it is in the rearend could this be a bushing? Please give me your opinion. Hello Mike I would  place the truck on jack stands and wiggle the drive shaft around as best as i could  I have know a few of the pinion bearings to go out now and then especilay if truckhas beeen lifted at all .You will have to use some force to do this and I reall recomend  using the jack stands thank you!!
