GM-GMC: swapping transmissions, gmc 4x4, electric shift

i am replacing a 4L60E tranny on a 1993 gmc 4x4. the one i took out has 12 prongs where the electric shift plugs in . the one i'm replacing it with has 13 prongs. will it work or what do i have to do to make it work. thanx for any suggestions you may have. Tim

personally i recommend you change it with the same tranny... or are you saying that its another 4l60e with a 13 pronged? i can not say if it will work but  gut tells me that it wont fit ... so depending on if you have money to spend splice the wires and put the old 12 pronged in place of the 13 pronged BUT i only say this as something i would do... cant guarantee that will work.
