GM-GMC: 1992 GMC Suburban, gmc suburban, carborator

Question
will not start. I put gas directly into the carborator and it started up and ran for a min.  It may be the fuel pump, but is there anything else more inexpensive i could try before replaceing the fuel pump. ? Is the pump in the tank ?

Answer
There is blockage somewhere in the fuel line. Try changing the fuel filter first. The pump is most likely the next in line if changing the filter doesn't work. Check that there are no leaks anywhere in the line all the way to the carb. I am not sure to be honest where the pump is located. Usually find them in the tank or above it.
