GM-GMC: 1994 GMS 1500 6.2 Diesel, 4l60, tranny fluid

My truck seems to require more RPM's to take off from a stop.  It is like the streets are icy and the tires are spinning but they are not.  My overdrive does not work at this time either.  Could the two issues be related?  I checked the tranny fluid it is fine.

Your vehicle has a 4L60-E automatic transmission.  It is electronically-controlled.

I do not have any experience with electronically-controlled transmissions, but I have heard that sensors and other parts fail on them.  Transmissions are also known to fail even though the fluid level is fine.
