GM-GMC: 1995 chevy c1500 2wd pickup, chevy c1500, rear brakes

Question
Sir:

Have not had the truck very long as it was recently purchased for my son.  The problem below has occurred after purchase....naturally.

When I step on the brakes of my truck, there seems to have developed an almost sway to the front end of the vehicle.  Actually seems to sway(or jiggle) from side to side, not alot but is noticeable.  The truck also seems to studder(don't know how else to discribe it) when braking.  I'm sure it's the brakes but could those problems be from something else?  Thank you for your time.

Answer
There are many possible issues here.

First, it is likely a brake problem.  The vehicle should be inspected by a competent brake technician as sooon as possible.  It could be anything from worn out brake pads (or shoes since the rear brakes can cause this kind of trouble, too) to loose bearings, calipers, steering parts, or even the tires.

It is unsafe to operate the truck with this kind of problem.  Please take remedial action and prevent an accident.
