Honda: my 97 honda knocking and loss of power, rpms increase, honda civic

my 97 honda civic started knocking real loud flueids are all good never over heated the car jerked half hour before the knocking started and loss of most of its power i did notice a week before alittle noise when i would let off the gas

It sounds like you are describing a connecting rod knock. If the speed of the noise is more rapid as the rpms increase, it's most likely a rod knock. If the car has a/c and power steering, remove one drive belt at a time to eliminate those as the cause.
