Lincoln/Mercury: my heatercore is leaking fluid on floor of passenger side how can i find out the problem and where is it located at?, nissan maxima, heatercore

Can I plug up any lines?The make is an 1987 nissan maxima.

Since this is a service issue,our master tech explained: 1)the heater core would require complete front dash removal to get to the heater core.(Is it worth the expense?)2)If the lines become pugged,you will get poor heat and possible over heating. My opinion is to consider trading or sell the and consider a newer Maxima(have you seen the 2006 Maxima?!!)Sometimes repair can costly or not.Weigh your options and good luck!
