Mazda: Oil, mazda 626, bud

Hi Bud,
This is embarrassing...but I have a 89 Mazda 626 with 220,000 miles. She still a going..I never check the oil. I had a friend do that. Now It's just me...Do I check the oil when the car has warm up..or when the engine is cold?

Hi Mitch and thanks for the question.  You can check the oil either hot or cold, but you will get a more accurate reading if the oil is hot.  The difference is very small, just make sure you do not let it get too low.  Congratulations on keeping it running for so long.  Best of luck, Bud
