Mercedes: E300 TDI Mercedes, blower for AC, air plenum, blower works

Question
My E-300 1999 Diesel is having a problem with the blower for the climate system, it works some times and some times it doesn't.
I inspected all the fuses and checked OK.
I start the car and the blower works, but If I stop the car and start again, it may not work.
The climate control seems to work fine, when the blower is working I can increase and reduce the speed with no problems.
The problem is that it is not working when I need it.
Can you please tell me how to get to the blower motor and cabin filter?

Answer
Frank,
I would have the freon check to make sure it is up to spec. Pressure sensors may be turning of the AC compressor. It functions as a dehumidifier for the climate system.

The blower operates through these switches. IN the summer the blower remains off until the evaporator temperature lowers to a predetermined temperature. This process keeps you from being blasted with hot air while the system chills.
The blower motor is internal to the air plenum and is under the dash or in front of the firewall. They usually require major parts removal to get too.
The cabin filter may also be clogged causing insufficient air flow over the evaporator. Cabin filters are generally found in one of two locations: under the hood, or under the dash board.
Good Luck
