I have a 1988 Benz that continually drains the battery power. I purchased a new battery and the alternator checks good. I have received advice to remove the alarm system. What is your advice?

Answer
A bad diode in the alternator can allow drain back of the voltage to ground and slowly kill a battery. The alternator can still check good on a voltage test with I am unsure of where you disconnect the alarm.
If you can determine what fuse supplies voltage to that unit you could pull it to see if the battery continues to go dead.
