Mercedes: alarm siren on 2003 c220 cdi classic estate, fuse box, google search

Question
QUESTION: my alarm siren/buzzer doesnt work on my 2003 c220 mercedes cdi classic estate  where do I locate it to check the wiring etc,

ANSWER: Are you the original owner? Are you able to set off the alarm. Are the lights flashing when you do?

If not someone may have disconnected the system.
Look under the passenger seat to see if it is not located there.
Also you should do a google search for the electrical manual or schematic. It will tell you the location and possibly the fuse number.
Check the fuse box. Usually the fuse designations is located inside the lid.
Once located, even if the fuse does not show burnout, it is a good idea to remove the fuse and clean the tips. Corroded tips can cause any of the electrical to fail or be strange about operating.
Good luck. Let me know what you find out.

QUESTION: I am not the original owner the fault was picked up on the a service at my local mercedes dealer if I sit inside and lock the car my movement starts the lights flashing   this tells me the system works ok and not the siren  I would like to locate it and check it out

Answer
Kenneth,
I expect that someone has probably cut the wire to the alarm horn. Your dealer should know the location base on their service information. I would scan the fire wall looking for a wire that has been cut or disconnected. On my 420 the thing is in the center and I think in the firewall well. It is so damn loud that driving with the activated would make it really hard to concentrate.
My alarm got out of sync and I finally reprogrammed it by disconnecting the battery then going around an physically locking each lock. I reconnected the battery and it chirped once. This let me know that it was armed. When I opened the door properly, it operates as it should now.

You may check in the fuse box, as it may have had the fuse to the horn pulled or the wire cut there.
Good Luck
