Mercedes: too much RPM, exact model number, vacuum leaks

Question
QUESTION: i want to ask that i have installed a new ecu in my e200 model 1997 but its rpm is more than 2000+ i could not find out the solution to this problem plz help me out to solve this.........!

ANSWER: The ECU adjust rpm base on the information received from several sensors on the car.
If you have a vacuum leak on the system, it can give false reading to the ECU.
I suggest that you look for hoses that may be pulled loose or broken.
Pay particular attention to cracked rubber coupling. When in doubt, replace the hose.

Let us know when you solve the problem and how you did.
Good luck

Answer
OK.
Is this a NEW or USed ECU? Did you verify that the ECU is the exact model number for your vehicle base on its production date.
A slight change in the sensor parameters during a production cycle can change the date that the ECu must interpret to control RPMs.

How many mile on this vehicle?
