Mercedes: 1998 Mercedes E200 Auto, Dublin, mercedes e200, cold weather

Had new driver door fitted last year, since then in cold weather, alarm will sometimes activate spontaneously and central locking will open the doors. Also in cold weather while driving, central locking and interior lights will repeatedly open/close and go on/off until car interior warms up. I have also noticed (could be unrelated) that when I carry passengers the problem worsens, though only when the weather is cold. Any idea's?

#1. Possible alarm/locking wire short in the driver door and/or hinge pillar area.
#2. Driver door locking unit not installed correctly.
#3. If a used/salvage door was installed, the door alarm/lock may be damaged or not compatible with the vehicle system.
