Mercedes: MB 190e 2.6 idle searching, mercedes benz 190e, mb 190e

Question
My 1992 2.6 with 98K miles was running fine before I sprayed carb cleaner through the air damper to keep the system clean.  After doing this (with the engine running so it wouldn't stall while spraying in the carb cleaner) my son drove the car for a short distance.  Upon his return, the car's idle seem to be abruptly and consistently searching.  The engine is not miss firing but it is not steadily idling either.  It has a very consistent rise and abrupt reduction in idle speed.  Any ideas?

Thanks,
Bob
