Mercedes: High Beam Switch?, low beams, light functions

Hi, I have a 1990 Mercedes 500 SEL. The High beam light don't work when the stalk is pushed forward(away from driver) and this also switches off the low beam. If the low beam is on and the stalk is pulled backward (toward driver)the high and low beams work. All other light functions are working. All fuses and relays seem OK.

This could be a bad relay or Combination Switch = stalk.

The W126.037 M116.963 V8 500SEL was imported to the USA in 1984-1985, in 1992 the W140.051 119.970 V8-dohc 500SEL was imported, thus I do not know if you have a W126 or W140.

What country are you in?
