Mercedes: Mercedes 500 SEL baby seat, mercedes 500 sel, w126 mercedes

I have a 1989 (W126) Mercedes 500 SEL and I need to get a 0-9 month rearward facing baby seat to fit in the back of the car. I have tried two different makes of seat and both are too big for the rear seatbelt and very tight with the front seatbelt. Can you recommend a seat that will fit? Thanks.

Go to your local Mercedes dealer, parts department, they should be glad to help with this question.
I seem to recall there is an optional attaching anchor piece for car seats, dealer only item.

The sales department may also have the information you need, as it is a safety question.
