Mercedes: a/c blower controller, e320 mercedes, pollen filter

Question
I have a 1997 E320 Mercedes that has a fan blower that does not respond to the controls.  It is permanently "stuck" on the low setting even though the control shows that that the high setting has been chosen.  Any suggestions?

Answer
Have you ever replaced the combination filter/cabin filter or pollen filter.
You must replace them every two or three years as they plug solid and choke air flow.

Note:
It is also possible that your blower motor and blower regulator are bad.
