Mercedes: 1979 Mercedes-Benz 240D Not Starting, mercedes benz 240d, engine oil pressure

Question
heya!

I bought the car 4 days ago and it ran like a top for two of
them(expensive days of motoring...)

It sort of fizzled out. i was merging onto the highway and it
just slowed down then cut off. 911 was no help until i was rear
ended and feigned an injury for them to come....

after changing the fuel filters and checking that the valvetrain
was running(peeked in the oil inlet while it was cranked) nothing
has happened!

Did a valve stick/burn? it isnt my ownly mode of transport,
but is to be as soon as i work out the kinks! any help would be
appreciared!

Answer
Sounds like fuel starvation.
Look for a broken = leaking fuel line.

If you replaced both engine compartment fuel filters.
Q: Did you add fuel to tank, don't trust the gauge.
Q1: Did you use the hand pump to prime the system?
Q2: Do you have any fuel leaks?
Q3: How many miles on this 240D?

Q7: Are you running diesel fuel or SVO - WVO?
