Mitsubishi: Motor Mount, clunk

What is a motor mount and can it sound like something is loose on the right side of the car?

Not knowing the year or model I am going to say there are 4 motor/transmission mounts located on or near the subframe. If there is an issue with any of them, it will make a clunk on the shifts or engagement of the transmission. These really wouldn't make a "something loose" noise so I suggest you take it to someone to inspect the under carraige right away. This is nothing to mess around with. Nothing is much more exciting then to see your front tire out pacing you on the highway!
