I HAVE A 1999 MITSUBISHI GALANT 2.4 THE SPEDOMETER DOES NOT WORK I CHANGE THE SPEED SENSOR, THE COMPUTER,ALSO THE GAGE , STILL DOES NOT WORK.ANY ADVICE ON WHAT ELSE TO DO?

Have you had it scanned yet? In the newer cars, this is most important. If the speedo is not working, the transmission will not shift. If you have no check engine light on and the car shifts properly, then you have a bad speedo head. Please give me more info and will get this right.

This is likely a bad speedo head, but we won't know until you have it scanned. Since the transmission is shifting that means the computer is getting the signal from the speed sensor. The check engine light may not even be related to this, but if you ignore the CEL, you will likely cause even bigger problems. Have your car scanned then resubmit.
