Mitsubishi: Mitsu Trans Diamante, pulse generators, temp gauge

Question
D... thnaks for the info on Pulse Generators...
I looked... not in sight but the two wires go down... BUT?
Recall that I said I have "no Reverse"?  I was told by a very trusted shop over the phone... that if there is no Reverse... the tranny has  serious internal problems...  Meaning $1200plus.
Is this certain?
If so... why would the diagnostic read out say "okay to drive"...
Now, if the shop that replaced my alternator recently... and after the alternator r/r ... it ran "hot" even on a short trip to the store... but as the air temp got hotter - spring into May... and I used the A/C... the temp gauge showed perfect "level" (normal) ... always been at level.

Could they have done something that would have affected the tranny by it over heating?
So let me know if I should bother with the Pulse Generators... and also, if that shop could have done something to make the engine or tranny run hot and go  out on me.
Thanks

Question -
95 Diamante Automatic 3.0 SOHC

Does this have a Chyrsler Tranny?  Guy told me to check translevel in P Park... I've been checking it in N Nuetral for over 100,000 miles.
Got another diagnostic done.
Same as before.... OK to drive.
But more codes...  not just the 52 & 86
31 Pulse Generator "A" open
52 code  2nd gear not synchronized
54 code 4th gear not synchronized
81 Pulse Generator "A" open
86 code Gear Shifts not synchronized

Just for the heckof it I took to a franchise to get the diag. done.  The guy was telling me that it was not reading it and that the computer was not getting a message from the transmission.
All the while the display says... get "Mitsu 1" adapter .... he was just reading the OB II.
He wants $250 to take it out and tear it down... and then do an evaluation and then put it back.
I have other shops that I would let work on it.
But, if it is a solenoid... that would be the cheapest? right... still have to tear it down? or can you do that from outside or withthe pan off.  I just need 2,000 more miles out of this... just started new business...

After driving through traffic for a bit on the way home... it went back to "limp" 2nd only" gear... but after stoping at the store... it went back to 1st fine... disengage at 3,000rpm... then slow down  2nd gear  I can go up to 60 mph before it will disengage when I let off the throttle.

Thanks.

Question -
Checked trans fluid before I drove up the freeway.  It was "high".  I have always had it at just he right mark.  But 2 months ago, after getting some alternator r/r the trans was a bit low... tiny bit.
I added about 3 oz. of fluid.
So I was surprised that it was 1/8 over "hot".  It was a hot day... I had only driven it about 7 miles when I checked it.  So I drove a couple more and still high.
I drained out 2.5 oz... then the problem happened.
Could I have checked the tran level when it was still cold... would that have registered "high". I am concerned that the draining of the fluid was a problem.  But I checked the level and it was just a fraction above hot.
I drive on freeway... and trans goes out.  I am in rush hour... so I slow down and turn around... realize that I am in second... and it wont shift out.  "limp mode"
Get home... no reverse... And I go through the manual gears... There is a clunk... in 1st... after it wouldn't engage... then it moves.
Now it is not locked in second.
I have first but no synchro... and if I can find second by slowing down... 2nd will engage with good clutch but it disengeages instead of going into 3rd... etc.  No reverse.
Had TCM checked... it send codes:
code 52... 2nd gear no synchro
code 86.... change gear no synchro.
Unfortunately, the guy didn't know what he was doing and didn't scroll down to see what was
I keep wondering if I caused the problem by draining out those 2.5 ozs.

Answer
Sorry Brax,

I missed the no reverse issue in your question. Yes, you need to have your transmission overhauled. Expect to pay around $2000 on the average.

Follow up: Geez Brax, think I deserved the negitive rating? I'm a volunteer. I was concentrating on how to get you out of this without getting ripped off by a dishonest repair shop. You have so many issues with your transmission I was trying to figure out a way you could get by. Sorry I upset you, but it is what it is. I got lost in your lengthy message and rushed to help you with the electronic issues. Hope you have a great weekend.
