Mitsubishi: check enginge light, mitsubishi eclipse gs, 1995 mitsubishi eclipse gs

Question
I have a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS with 96,100 miles. Last night I had my oil changed and everything was fine. This morning during my drive to work my check engine light came on. I know on a lot of cars (especially GM vehicles it seems) that this light comes on quite often, however this is the first time it has come on in my car. Not knowing what it could be, do I have to bring my car in to a dealer to have them computer diagnose what the problem might be or is there something I can check so I can save money? If I do need to have it brought in, can I bring it to a local service station or do only Mitsubishi dealers have the correct computer equipment to diagnose this sort of thing. Thank you very much for helping me out.
Sincerely,
Matt

Answer
Matt,

I've tried to answer this eamil before, but I don't think it got through, since I got a question about why haven't I gotten back to you?

Any mechanic with a code reader can get the information from your car's computer. Since a problem with the emission/fuel injector systems can often cause the light to come on, I'd recommend a bottle of Chevron's Techron fuel injector cleaner. It's a long shot, but a cheap one.
