Nissan: nissan wont start, gas plugs, gas pumps

no previous problems.  About three hours after running tried to start, engine turned over fine but like out of gas. Plugs getting spark,gas pumps out of filter, changed it anyway.I can hear pump working. I can't see where to hook up presure gage to fuel bar. I also checked fusses.1998 Sentra 1.6

Check two things here. First your fuel pressure. The regulators do go bad as well as the pumps. Then check your compression. If the car sounds like a sewing machine when you crank it do the following. Remove all four spark plugs, put about four teaspoons of oil in each cylinder. Install the plugs. Put a battery charger on the battery and crank the engine while holding down the throttle. YOu may have to crank the engine for a while but it should start.
